The Route of Country Houses in Northern Hungary includes four mansions under the care of the Hungarian National Agency for the Management of State-owned Historic Properties - the L’Huillier–Coburg Mansion at Edelény, the Fáy House at Fáy, the Károlyi Mansion at Füzérradvány and the Lónyay House at Tuzsér. All four are state-owned. On the basis of their historic, cultural, and architectural values, these four mansions are among the most valuable mansions in Hungary.

The information centres at these mansions draw the attention of the sightseers to the region’s well-known, and less well-known, natural and cultural heritage sights. Radiating tours starting from these information centres, conduct the tourists to settlements, which, without the additional information they provide, they would probably never visit.

Additionally, for those interested, The Route of Country Houses recommends 6 cultural routes which reach across the border into Slovakia; through these they can also become familiar with the well-known, and less well-known mansions, castles, churches and natural treasures, along the Slovakian border area.
