The history of Sajólád can not be separated from that of the Pauline Order, or of its Pauline monastery; from the time of its foundation, the former medieval monastery and its church have played a determining role in the settlement’s history. Starting in 1716, the single-nave church with its polygonal chancel was rebuilt in the baroque style.
The Erdődy Hunting Lodge, built in 1887 in an eclectic style, can be
found on the outskirts of Sajólád. Because of its dilapidated
structural condition, the Lodge, which is now in private hands, is not
open to the public. |
