Its most important monument is the towerless church dating from the Arpád-Period. The Romanesque church, dating from the 11th century, was enlarged several times during the course of the 13th and 15th centuries. A 15m high, baroque style, wooden bell-tower with a gallery, was erected on the north side of the church in 1765. Of the church’s relics, the series of elaborate wall paintings exposed on the inner wall surfaces, deserves special attention.
Also deserving a mention is the
monument-like Bónis-Gedeon Mansion, built in the baroque style at the
beginning of the 19th century. It now provides a venue for local
government and local community functions. |
