This small settlement of 900 people lies in the valley of the Bódva River. Located along the railway, it provides the most direct access for approaching the small hidden villages of the Galyaság area.
Many of its dwellings still retain the region’s traditional building
style, that of the Perkupa master builders. The characteristics of this
style can be recognised in many of the nearby settlements. The Galyaság
Village Association has its office in one such restored cottage. As a
consequence of its natural attributes, and its ever-increasing number
of guest-houses, the village offers a first-class venue for
recreational and village tourism.
